Safety on the Lake

Your security on the lake is important to us, all season long. This page highlights general important guidelines we ask you to remember and respect, in your experience of the lake.

Good Code of Conduct

The purpose of the present protocol is to improve the measures for the protection and conservation of Lac Tremblant.  It promotes the integration of four (4) fundamental concepts, namely, the sustainability of this body of water, its accessibility, its peaceful enjoyment, and the safety of its users.

Ensure sustainability
Prior to launching any boat, it must be washed by an accredited washing station in Mont Tremblant. You must also obtain the certificate issued by the accredited washing station to have access to Lac Tremblant.

Here is a list of places you can access to wash your boat:

Défi Sport Marine 228,  route 117, Mont-Tremblant 819 425 2345
(With appointment only, about $20)

Garage Matte 1950, ch du Village, Mont-Tremblant 819 425 7969
(With appointment only, about $20)

Lave-Auto Mont-Tremblant 469, rue de Saint-Jovite 819 681 9136
(7 days a week, 9 to 5, about $10 – self-service)

To assure good water quality, do not transport water from lake to lake in your boat’s ballast tanks. The use of phosphate-free cleaning products is recommended for use during the cleaning of boats, etc.

Boating conduct
All boaters must leave their mooring positions, by following a perpendicular direction from the shore. All motorized recreational activities are prohibited within a distance of 60 metres from the shore. In order to ensure the protection of the shoreline and reduce erosion, all motorized recreational activities should be performed in the middle of the lake. Avoid making continuous circles with your boat.

The Transport Canada marine laws are enforced by the Police Department of Mont Tremblant.

To maximize safety on the lake, the maximum speed limit is 55 km/h outside the 60 meter distance from the shoreline, and 10 km/h within 60 meters of the shoreline and in some other specific areas, as indicated by the presence of the navigation buoys on Lac Tremblant.

Ensure accessibility
Motorized boats are permitted on Lac Tremblant. NO boats are permitted in the Cachée River. It is in the Mont Tremblant National Park. The Lac Tremblant boat launch for residents and non-residents is managed by PRESERVATION LAC TREMBLANT NORD.   It is located at end of Chemin de Lac Tremblant–Nord. Permanent boat anchors are authorized in areas established by the Ville du Mont Tremblant.

Ensure tranquility
Noise management is subject to the Nuisance By-law (2003-53) Ville de Mont Tremblant.
